Keeping Your Lips Healthy, Soft and Moisturized in Winter

Suffering from dry, chapped lips? You are not alone! Especially this season, your lips are already prone to drying out very easily. Add cold temperatures, blustery winter winds, and cold & flu season and your lips may feel the wrath of dryness and cracking. Luckily, there are ways we can treat, and more importantly, prevent painful chapped lips. Here are some tips for keeping your lips happy and healthy this winter.

  1. Apply Lip Balm

  1. Protect your Lips from the Elements

Since the wind and cold speed up the rate of moisture loss in your lips, it only makes sense to protect your lips from those elements. Simply covering your mouth with a scarf while outside can help prevent the dryness and irritation your lips might have otherwise been exposed to.

  1. Stay Hydrated

 Another no brainer here! Dehydration is yet another factor that can lead to dry, chapped lips. Be sure to drink plenty of water throughout the day. If you find yourself stuck inside in centrally heated rooms this winter, you may also find that the relative humidity is low, leaving the air dry. When possible, use a humidifier to boost humidity levels.
